The Italian Cultural Society of Washington, D.C. Gives Tribute to Italian Food & Wine at Gala

To be an Italian foodie in Washington, D.C. is to know by heart the names of the great Italian chefs and restaurants. Franco Nuschese (Cafè Milano), Fabio Trabocchi (Fiola, Fiola Mare, etc.), Luigi Diotaiuti (Al Tiramisù), Roberto Donna (Roberto’s Ristorante Italiano), Joe Farruggio (Il Canale) are just some of the buzz names that resonate with being Italian and knowing good food in our Nation’s Capital. These are chefs and entrepreneurs in the Washington area who will be recognized by the Italian Cultural Society who maintain the excellence and high quality of Italian cuisine. These are some of the pioneers of the Italian food scene and are responsible for giving Washington, D.C. an esteemed food presence on the map for over 30 years. Finally, an Italian organization will recognize these masters as “representing the excellence and the authenticity of Italian cuisine in DC. So they deserve to be awarded, ” says Francesca Cassazza, CEO/Executive Director of the Italian Cultural Society. The Slow Food Movement, Roberta Ceretto and “Barolo Brothers;” awards and more will take center stage at the Italian Cultural Society of Washington, D.C.’s annual Gala on Friday, June 7, 6:30 p.m. at the Italian Embassy.
